At St. Mary’s we encourage our children to look beyond themselves and think of others locally, nationally and globally. The chance to do this is driven by our vision and our aspiration of sharing our value of ‘love’ with others.
With the aid of our families, we support a number of charities. These have included:
In previous years we have also worked alongside St Mary’s on the Green Church to support The Besom charity in Witney. This charity provides for individuals and families in need by passing on good quality household items such as furniture, children’s clothing and toys as well as distributing gifts of food. By working alongside The Besom we seek to develop our children’s understanding of the importance of living well together in our community.
In our partnership with The Batt CE Primary School the children are also beginning to explore their role and responsibilities as global citizens. As a part of this children were delighted to support The African Children's Fund and take part in World Porridge Day, where they raised money to support Porridge Clubs at schools in Africa including The Joy School in Kenya which shares a special relationship with our schools.
