Childhood is a special time, and we are committed to making school life as happy and productive as possible for your child, and every child in our care.
Starting at a new school, whether your child is starting Reception or moving from another school, can be daunting for both children and parents. We encourage families to come visit our school and get a feel for what the school day is like here.
Children who will be starting a new academic year with us in our Reception Class will be invited to spend the day/morning or afternoon with us in July. We also invite parents of our new Reception children to join us for a welcome meeting in the summer. At this event, parents are able to meet the Headteacher, staff and Friends of St Mary’s and hear more about the year ahead.
New to the area
In deciding where you would like your child to go to school, it is really important to find out as much as you can about the school itself. If you are moving to the area we think it is a good idea to arrange a visit to St Mary’s as we want you to be confident that we are a good fit for you and your child.
To observe Government guidelines and keep everyone safe we have allocated 20 minute sessions for a maximum of 4 people at a time. You will need to book a date and time so please call the school office on 01993 702387 to find out what appointments are available or use our online enquiry form. Please note you will be required to wear a mask for your visit and hand sanitiser will be made available. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
