Science Oxford

Year 1 enjoyed their visit from Science Oxford.  They learnt all about The Great Fire of London through science experiments and readings from Samuel Pepys' diary.

The children discovered that oxygen, heat and fuel make up the fire triangle and by taking any one of these things out the fire can be extinguished.

The flame in this photo grew very quickly as the metal cage spun around showing the effect the wind had on the fire in 1666.
