Governors have three main roles:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff;
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
As part of the Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust (ODST) the work of the Governing Board is supported by the Directors of ODST and governed by the Scheme of Delegation.
Governors meet as a full board and as two separate committees, one which deals primarily with finance and resourcing concerns and the other with curriculum matters. Governors spend time in school monitoring the strategic progress of the School Development Plan as well as having a key role to play in monitoring health, safety and safeguarding.
